Our Studio

My Story

You could say it has been a lifelong dream to own my own skin care & waxing studio.

It all started when I was very young, growing up in the Midwest. I lucky enough to be raised by a mother who was health-conscious concerning nutrition, vitamins, exercise, and skin care. She believed in taking care of, or "being a good steward", of our bodies. She believed in presenting our best selves to others in all ways. She was always sure to do the best she knew to preserve youthfulness as long as possible. She has always been my greatest example and the inspiration behind my love for the health and beauty of our skin. Growing up, applying sunscreen was like drinking water, a necessity and ultimately becoming a mindless habit. My beach and sun-loving mother made sure we wore sun hats and had umbrellas to sit under. After all, if you're going to love the sun, you have to be smart about it and, of course, do it in style. Being educated about the sun at such a young age was pretty remarkable. I was the girl, who went on her senior spring break and camped out under those umbrellas and sun hats, totally refusing to join the tanning oil rituals of my peers. I did not want a tan, and no one was convincing me otherwise.

I remember the excitement of accompanying my mother to the local department store and the joy of our interactions with the woman at the makeup and products counters. Those women and their "magic potions." Yeah, you could say I was a sucker from day one. I was in awe, I had to know what everything did. These excursions were naturally followed by me sneaking into my mother’s bathroom and secretly slathering them all over my face. And I do mean all over.

In 4th grade, I remember being asked that age-old question, "what do you want to be when you grow up." Without missing a beat, my response was "I want to make women look and feel beautiful. I want to do their skin! "

My childhood best friend, Sara, wanted to do hair. Together we came up with a grand idea of having our own business and doing lots of "makeovers." Today she is a hairdresser and I'm an aesthetician, pretty cool!

My interest was further sparked after traveling to Africa in 2008 and taking care of orphans. The amount of skin disorders blew my mind. I needed to know more, I HAD to know more. The skin was so fascinating to me! After all, it is the largest organ of the body. Acting as a waterproof, insulated shield, guarding the body against extremes of temperatures, damaging sunlight, and harmful chemicals. It also exudes antibacterial substances that prevent infection and manufactures vitamin d for converting calcium into healthy bones. Okay, okay, you get the point. But, it’s fascinating!

I enrolled and started skin care school just 1 month after returning to the US. I attended the College of International Esthetics. Where I received training and certification for medical Aesthetics. Over the last 12 years, my desire to help people, both men and women, achieve their skin care goals has been on a steady climb. My main focus and passion is for corrective skin care. Whether it’s aging skin, advanced acne, rosacea, dry, or severe environmentally damaged. I love result driven treatments, and they ultimately speak for themselves. In this ever growing and changing industry, there is nothing more important than constantly continuing and furthering one’s education. I have taken countless advanced, and specialized classes and will continue to do so throughout my career.

I truly believe that when you have healthy, happy skin you shine inside and out. I feel like my job helps me to celebrate the beauty of the human spirit.

I'm so thankful and feel utterly blessed to have Bare. It's my childhood dream come true. I have the best clients in the world. They are my biggest supporters, my cheerleaders and they are what makes me leave work every day feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.
